New Franken Polish- Names?

Hello again. I recently bought a dress and can't figure out what polish (or combination) to wear with it. Please HELP! It's yellow with pink sequins and a flower pattern. I was thinking of something blingy, but I don't know of any pink and yellow sparkle polishes out there. Any ideas? Pictures?

Hello Again- Again

Just popping in quickly to say hello and sorry we haven't been around. Tomorrow is my (April) tonsilectomy- oh boy. BUT it means that I might finally have some couch time to do lots of posts if I'm feeling up to it! Yeah!

This is "Lucky Lucky Lavendar" by OPI, and I chose it because I'm hoping for good luck during my surgery (and they said I can only wear light colored polish, so I hope this qualifies). It has the fantastic application of almost all OPI's- very creamy. Though I did have to use 3 coats to get past VNL. I'm giving this 4 Blings!

Well hello again- finally right!?! First off, thank you all so very much for your well wishes- Papa is doing well and finally out of the hospital (again- hopefully for a long time).

This beautiful polish is "Bella Berry" by Borghese. Not Twilight related, at least I don't think, lol. Very nice brush, near perfect application, and stunning color earn this baby a whopping 5 Blings!

Hot Topic

First off, It is so good to be back! We will still be in and out for a while. We moved my parents in with April and her DH. They have the perfect set up at their house and gave them their downstairs master with walk in closet and bathroom. I live 7 minutes away so now we can give them the extra help they need.
This is some polish that I got at Hot Topic, I'm sure it's probably not new and it has no name. I love this color! It's a super bright florescent lavender. This is two coats and it dried matte. The Poshe' top coat shined it right up! The only thing about this polish that I did not like was the long brush handle, it made application a little harder, but what a cute bottle! Love! 5 Blings

New L'Oreal - High Tide

This is High Tide from the New L'Oreal Passport to Paradise collection. This is really the only one that I was interested in. The others looked like colors that I already had. I love this grayed out light blue. It reminds me of gray Seattle skies. Our water is much darker than this. This is two coats that went on a little thick with a top coat of Poshe'. The Seattle picture was taken from the sky bridge of Virginia Mason hospital looking west to Puget Sound. Thanks to everyone for the well wish's and Prayers for my Dad. We should find out test results today.

Jade Comparison

In this picture, "in the jungle" is on my pinkie and index fingers, and "Jade is the new Black" is on my middle and pointer fingers. As you can see they are almost dupes. All you'd have to do to franken "Jade is the new Black" is take some white and add it to the other!

And this is just "Jade is the new Black" alone. Love! 2 coats, easy application, a bit streaky but my top coat evened it out. This is my new must have! 4 Blings.

This is some goofing around I did with Nfu-Oh - 61. This is a bottle I got from Ancek at Rainbows and Blues. What a fabulous silver holo! My nail art is lacking but not the polish! I Love it! This was over the top of my Milani - 2.0 mani.
And a pic of the back yard apple tree.
Posting may be sporadic for a bit. I looks like my Dad is going to be sent to the hospital. So I may be spending a lot of time away from home for a bit.

Petites - Rock n' Roll

This is a Petites I picked up the other day. This is three coats of gorgeous girlie pink shimmer! With a top coat of Poshe'. It's kind of a half jelly with pink lavender and silver glitter. I really loved wearing this! I had this on for about a day and half.

And that brings me to a question. Do you gals polish both hands and wear your polish? I almost never just do one hand and do multiple swatches at a time. I really like to wear my polish. I have been really curious as to how other people wear and swatch their polish.

April and I tripped on to a new Milani display at Fred Myers the other day. This is one of them. This is two coats of 2.0 with no top coat. It's almost a holo but it's not. It kind of reminds me of my graphite drawing pencil but with lots of silver blue and some gold sparkle. It's a really cool polish that looks a lot different inside and outside. 4 Blings

OMG! I hardly know where to start. These are from the swap that I just got from Ancek at "Rainbows and Blues".
I started with one coat of S-he #464, a super dark purple that covered in one coat. It went on a little different than I am used to, thin and runny but super opaque. It wasn't hard, I just had to be careful not to get it on my skin.
Then......drum roll..........."MY PRECIOUS"! Nfu-Oh #39.
One easy, smooth as butter with angel wings, gorgeous flakey perfection! I can not stop looking at my nails! I put this on last night, I even had a dream about it! How cool is that! Sadly there was no sun to capture its full glory.
Ancek, I cant thank you enough for giving me my first Nfu- Oh polish and my new "PRECIOUS"! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

Big Batch of Barielle's Part 1

I am in love with this collection. These were all beautiful and easy to apply! First up is a stunning silver called "Night Moves" and you will be queen of the disco wearing it. It is extra shimmery and reminds me of Sally Hansen's "Celeb City". This was 2 coats. 4 Blings.

This is now my favorite blue for sure! Also 2 coats "Electric Boogie" is a dark blue (but not too dark- it doesn't look black at night) with some teal sparkles. So much nicer in person! 5 Blings!

Last but not least, we have "Freestyle". This is a perfect light mint green with silver shimmer. Just a little background- Barielle first started with horse products, and a freestyle is where a horse and rider "dance" to music. This color does seem to convey the special precision that goes into such a perfectly timed production, and earns 4.5 Blings (which would equate to a freestyle score of 95%- off the charts!).

This is Sally Hansen HD - Pixel Pretty. This is a really loud bright turquoise with green shimmer. This is two coats with no top coat. I love this color but it's really not something that I'd normally wear. I would feel really uncomfortable wearing this out of the house. I don't know, maybe if I was wearing just the right white and turquoise summer outfit. Maybe. 3.5 Blings

Claire's Mood polish Win from Sawan Part II

Overall these went on well, fairly opaque- two coats each. Nice color selection :)

Of all the ones I'm reviewing, this one stole the show. It's Happy/Earthy and it is fabulous! This doesn't just change shades, it changes from grass green to bright yellow- hot! 5 Blings!

I also love this blue/aqua combo called Peaceful/Confident. Decent color change and gorgeous color. 4 Blings.

Although I love the pink, this one didn't change hardly at all. It could be because my nails are too short to show a difference. Gotta love the name though: Fabulous/Funky. 3.5 Blings

This one was wild too! Grey to orangey taupe. Daring/Innocent has a good color change to it also. 4 Blings.

Our Claire's Mood polish Win from Sawan

Here is the first of the Mood polish's that we won from the fabulous Laura from Sawan. I just knew I was going to love this polish and I was right! this is Calm / Wild, and it is! This was two easy coats that dried fast, and a top coat of Poshe'. This was way better with a top coat, don't skip it. This is top 5 now! My DH also flipped over this. I wore it for two days and had a really hard time taking it off. Thank You so much Laura for a new HG! LOVE!!! 5+ Blings

Petites Color Fever - Peach Blush

This is the last of the Petites that we got. There are 18 in all. If we get more we will post them asap. This is Peach Blush and it was sheer like the last one. It is a peach frost with subtle shimmer. Again a really beautiful and delicate color. This was three coats and a top coat of Poshe'. Application was easy with a good dry time. 4 Blings

This is Fairy Pink! WoW! This is kind of a duochrome holo. It's so pretty and delicate. This is understated with a kick. This is three coats with a top coat of Poshe'. This is a thinner polish but application was easy. Love! 4.5 Blings

More Petites Color Fever!

Again, all of these went on very well and dried fast! First up is "Twilight", a beautiful steel colored shimmer. One coat, and this was a touch darker in person. 4 Blings.

Next up is "Violet Frost", a stunning plum shimmer that is absolutely magnificent in person. This was one coat with VNL, two coats tops, and 4.5 Blings!

"Candy Green" reminds me of a candy apple, but with a kick. This is one coat and sure to get you noticed! Very unique and more vibrant in person. 4.5 Blings.

This polish is to funny! It's name is Periwinkle, it photographs Periwinkle, but in real life it is a grayed out lavender. Love the color! This is one coat with no top coat. Covers awesome and dries fast. I am really impressed!

Fascinating New Petites Color Fever Swatches!

I've got Color Fever! This just gets better and better as you scroll down ;) Here are a few of the Petites polish swatches for your enjoyment! These are all going on fantastic, drying fast, and very opaque- one coat with a bit of VNL or two coats tops!

Above is "Figi", a beautiful teal blue shimmer.4 Blings

This one is "Wild Plum" and it is just beautiful. Mom (Sylvia) thought she already had enough purples, so this was my major score :) It doesn't come out at all in the pictures, but trust me it is a keeper! 4.5 Blings

This is Black Diamond, which has magical holographic powers, as you'll see below. 5+ Blings!

This is Black Diamond (one coat) over Fiji! So this means BD makes any color a darker holographic! OMG! Must have!

This is China Glaze - Sugar High. I cant wait for summer to wear this color! I love this shade with a tan and on toes.
I'd call it a cross between pink and coral and it's almost florescent but not quite. This is two thick coats that went on fine and a top coat of Poshe'. Love it! 4 Blings

Light as Air

This is China Glaze - Light as Air from the Up and Away collection. I was really surprised this covered in two coats, most pastel's from my experience take three coats. It went on great, a tiny bit uneven but the top coat (Poshe') evened it right out. I really love this pale lavender with slightly gray tone. This is classy understated polish that you could wear any place. This looks like a dead on dupe for my franken polish lavender that I did. Why, I guess great minds think alike. :) 4 Blings

Clap your hands for this taxi cab yellow! "Happy Go Lucky" by China Glaze has a smile written all over it. Very opaque- yes, an opaque yellow! This is two coats with a top coat. This is so bright you will definitely get noticed, and will look great with a tan this summer. The only thing not perfect about this is that you will need to use heavier coats to avoid a streaky appearance, but the top coat did even that out. Love it! 4.5 Blings.

Late to the Party

I know I'm really late to the party on this one, but better late than never. This is OPI - Mad as a Hatter. I wanted to try this over my last mani before I took it off to see how it looked over another color. This is one coat, except on my pinkie there is two coats. Not a ton of difference to me. I think this would freshen up almost any tired mani! And it dried really fast. No top coat. Love! 4.5 Blings

Purple People Eater

The Emerald City is turning purple! This purple polish is "Flying Dragon" by China Glaze and it is fantastic! In the first pic I have two fingers matte and two fingers shiny. In the last pic I just had to make them all shiny!

It went on perfectly, not to thick or thin moderate opacity, just perfect. A dark but florescent purple with fuchsia and light blue sparkles, this is 3 coats and 5 blings!

The infamous "Scrangie Dupe"

Well, I really don't know how much of a dupe this is because I don't have RBL - Scrangie polish. By the time I got up the courage to pay that much it was sold out. This is Sally Hansen - Grape Going. This is three coats with a top coat of Poshe'. I Love this color! It reminds me of finely machined and oiled steel. This is a gorgeous purple and blue green duo-chrome, I just wish it covered in two coats. And dry time was very slow.
I think this may be back up worthy! Sadly no sun could be found for the pics in the Emerald City. LOVE! 5 Blings

Well, this is from the Sweet Things line from Maybelline. This is two coats with no top coat. It went on ok. The color is much warmer than the pics. The weird thing about this polish is the little bubbles that showed up as it dried. Maybe if I had put a top coat on it would have been better.
I like the color and the $1.75 price was cool. 3.5 Blings

This is Sinful Colors - Forget Now. It's a really pretty Hot dark red pink with lots of glass shimmer and flecks in it. It went on thick but nice. This is three coats with a top coat of Poshe'. Happy Palm Sunday! 4 Blings

This color also reminds me of a mushroom, maybe a shitake. It's one of my favorites from Color Club's Rebel Debutante collection called "High Society" and does make me feel rich and pampered. This would be great to wear to a day at the spa (like I'd know!). Goes on a bit streaky but covers well with 2 coats. 4.5 blings

This is Borghese - Venetian Red. I got this at Rite Aid a few weeks ago for 75% off. This is 2 coats and it went on so easy! Nice and smooth like glass. And I love the deep rich shimmer! If you have a chance to pick it up on clearance I would grab it! I also have on a top coat of Poshe'. Love! 4.5 Blings

UPDATE: Wow, My Hubby saw this polish on my hands he said he loved it and thought it was super sexy and HOT! Other blogers have said it seems to be a man magnet, I guess they weren't kidding!

I thought I'd take a break from purple for a bit and do something totally different. This is Essie - Fishnet Stockings. I had a hard time getting the color right. This is a dark, very vampy blood red. Not a very spring color but a nice change! This is two coats, the application was ok. One coat of Poshe' on top. Really love the shine on this! For the base I used Essie - Fill the Gap. So far I really like it! It dried fast and gave a smooth finish. 4.5 Blings

Fauxnad at Ross? Urgent Update!

When I saw it I clutched it to my chest and Ran! It was only $14.99 for the kit with 5 plates (29 designs), 6 polishes, and a top coat. Has anybody seen this brand or know anything about it?

UPDATE: We shall now call this Failnad- holy smeartastic batman! First it wouldn't pick up enough polish, then it would smear without the kind that came with it. Argh! Now I've ruined my mani :( 1 Bling for a good idea and price, but bad execution.

Disco Lives! Glamorous Break Up!

If this combo wasn't made to go Clubbing at Studio 54 I don't know what was! Hubby said it was to much, and it may be for 2010, but it would be right at home in the 70's.
The movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta was my first R movie I saw. ;) Ahh, Good Times! My older brother took me to see the Bee Gee's in '79 at the King Dome. God they were Awesome! Then Disco died and I moved on to Van Halen and Heavy Metal. :)

Here are some stunning silvers to make you feel special! All of these are 3 coats, fairly sheer, and all except "Celeb City" were streaky.

Pointer - "Pedal to the Metal" by Sally Hansen Salon
I like this color, though I might franken it to have just a bit more lavender color. It had good but streaky application and average dry time. 3.5 Blings

Middle - "Risk Taker" by Pure Ice

This is awesome! It is very shiny with deep color that sucks you right in. Good, but again streaky application, moderate dry time, beautiful color! 4 Blings!

Ring - "Silver Mercedes" by Pure Ice
Similar application to "Risk Taker" but a light silver. I love the name- that's the whole reason I bought it :) Very nice and shiny. 3.5 Blings

Pinkie - "Celeb City" by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear
This one is the standout! It dried the fastest, and sparkles like crazy! It was sheer as expected, but not streaky. This solves my craving for shiny and sparkly at the same time :) 4.5 Blings

WOW! Purple explosion!

This is 2 coats of Pure Ice "No Means No" underneath 1 coat of Milani "Hi-Res".

"No Means No" was fantastic enough by itself- a purplish color with fuchsia shimmer. Then "Hi-Res" on top makes it look deep and holographic with a rainbow of colors in the sunlight. It is beyond awesome, and looks even better in real life! 5 Blings!

Coral Comparison

Well it's officially spring! Here's some coral colors to brighten your day :) All of these are JUST ONE COAT!

Pointer - "Lunch at the Delhi" by OPI
I like this color, but am just not loving it. Maybe I've gone too glitter crazy and this is more creamy, but it boarders on mauve which I seriously dislike. It had good application and average dry time. 3.5 Blings

Middle - "Crushed" by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear

Pics do not do this justice. It is very shiny with deep color that sucks you right in. Good application, moderate dry time, stunning! 4.5 Blings!

Ring - "Caribbean Coral" by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear
Very similar to "Crushed" but a bit darker and creamy instead of shiny. Super opaque, easy application, great color, very nice. 4 Blings

Pinkie - "Peach Perfection" by LoveMyNails
This one was $1 at Walmart :) It dried the fastest, but was a bit streaky and is more of a pink than coral, but it is beautiful. I haven't liked this brand in the past so was hesitant on adding this one, but it is worth it's careful application and is very opaque- for such a light color this is saying something. Very shiny and a perfect spring pink. 4 Blings

OMG!!! This is my precious! This is everything that everybody has said and more! Don't you just love it when you find another HG! My heart is all a flutter!
This is Claire's - Magic. And it is. This is two coats of smooth, easy, just right perfection! With a top coat of Poshe'. I'm praying for sun tomorrow for some good pics.
I'm going to need some back up's of this one for sure.

Purple Fit

After all that green for Patty's Day I feel a purple fit coming on. Purple and lavender are my go to colors and I have a lot that I have to try so first up is China Glaze - Grape Pop.
This is a one coat wonder! It went on thick and I had to be careful applying it but it was so worth it for one coat. And it's super glossy too! One coat of Poshe'. And of coarse being dark purple it would NOT photograph right. Grrrr, this is a much darker purple. 4.5 Blings
